Day Rehabilitation
What is the day program?
Our day program is suitable if you have established rehabilitation goals and do not require the support of inpatient medical or nursing care.
The day program helps you achieve your rehabilitation goals and assist you in your recovery. It may help you return to work, driving, your favourite leisure activity and for others it may help you live as independently as possible in the community.
How can I become involved?
If you are a current inpatient, it will be discussed with you either by your rehabilitation physician or members of your allied health team.
If you are currently at home, please ask your GP or specialist to fax a referral to the medical suites’ reception on (02) 4388 4829 or BVP.admin@ramsayhealth.com.au.
Once we have received your referral, we will contact you to organise an initial assessment with a rehabilitation physician. This assessment will inform your ongoing treatment and therapy prescription.
Your schedule of appointments will be then be co-ordinated with you by our day program co-ordinator who can be contacted on (02) 43899467
What day programs are available?
Depending upon your individual needs, your rehabilitation physician may refer you to:
- Neurological Program
- Orthopaedic & Musculoskeletal Program
- Pain Management Program
- Reconditioning Program
What services are available?
We have a range of Allied health service available on this program. Our team will coordinate input from different Allied Health disciplines according to your goals and needs. Our Allied health team is made up Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Occupational therapists, Social Workers and Psychologists. We have half and full day program options available. We have an onsite hydrotherapy pool for use on Day Rehabilitation as suitable.
How often do I come?
This may vary depending on your treatment needs and your rehabilitation physician’s recommendations. Day program is available 1-3 x per week and often patients come to us for 3-4 weeks duration.
The rehabilitation team conducts fortnightly case conferences and they may jointly refer you for an extension to your program which may be an additional couple of weeks, however, this is dependent upon your individual needs.
